How to copy text from a screenshot on Mac
Use ScreenshotX's "Read text from screen" command: select any area of your screen and the text inside it is recognised on your Mac and copied to the clipboard. Recognition runs on-device, so the image is not sent anywhere.
Steps
1. Choose Read text from screen in the ScreenshotX menu. 2. Drag over the text you want, in an image, video, PDF or app that does not let you select it. 3. Paste the recognised text anywhere.
Private by design
Text recognition uses the macOS Vision framework on your computer. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share a capture.

Does text recognition need a paid plan?
It is part of the app, so it is included in Basic and Pro. ScreenshotX itself has no free plan.
Which languages does it read?
