A screen recorder for Mac with voice, webcam and GIF export
ScreenshotX records your Mac screen from the menu bar, with your microphone, an optional webcam bubble, click highlights and on-screen keystrokes. Export the result as a video or a GIF, or upload it and share a link with Pro.
What you can record
Record the full screen or a selected area. Add your voice, a webcam bubble, highlighted clicks and keystrokes so viewers can follow along. ScreenshotX leaves its own windows out of the recording.
Video or GIF
Recordings are saved as H.264 video with AAC audio. Turn short clips into a GIF for chat and documentation.
Share the recording
With Pro, upload the recording and send the link. You see how many people opened it and can collect comments. Links can be password protected or set to expire.
Frequently asked questions
Can I record my screen and webcam at the same time?
Yes. The webcam bubble is an overlay on the recording, so your camera and your screen are captured together.
What permissions does the recorder need?
ScreenshotX needs Screen Recording permission from macOS. It excludes its own windows from the video, except the overlays you choose to show.
