How to take a scrolling screenshot on Mac
macOS can't capture a long page in one go. In ScreenshotX, choose Scrolling capture, select the area, and scroll: the app stitches the pieces into a single tall image you can annotate, save or share.
Steps
1. Open the page or document you want to capture. 2. Choose Scrolling capture from the ScreenshotX menu and select the visible area. 3. Scroll down while ScreenshotX captures each part. 4. Stop, and the stitched image opens in Quick Access.
What it is good for
Long web pages, chat threads, settings screens, receipts and documentation. Mark up the stitched image with arrows and blur, then share it.
Frequently asked questions
Does scrolling capture work in any app?
It works on anything that scrolls on screen, including browsers and most native apps. Pages that change while you scroll may not stitch cleanly.
Where does the screenshot go?
It appears in Quick Access, where you can copy, save, annotate, upload or drag it elsewhere.
